Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book and pay?
Pick your location, date and time and pay through our secure online payment system.
If you book 4 or more sessions in the same booking you will receive 10% off.
You will immediately be sent a confirmation email with your secure gate code. This code will only work on the date and time you booked for.
If you need to change your booking, as long as it is earlier than 24 hours before you were due to arrive, you can login and edit your booking there by clicking ‘my sessions’. If you need to cancel your booking please use our contact page for help. Please note we cannot cancel within 24 hours of the booked slot or for inclement weather. Please use the shelter provided.
I’m having trouble logging in
Please make sure you have the correct email and password (they are case sensitive) and that you have ticked the two boxes at the bottom of the page. If you are still struggling please contact us.
What are your opening hours?
We are open from 6am to 10.30pm 365 days a year.
How much does it cost?
Each 50 minute session costs £9 for 1-4 dogs and £13 for 5-8 dogs.
Is there lighting?
No. Unfortunately we don’t have electricity on site so if you are visiting out of daylight hours please be sure to bring a torch.
Is there somewhere to park?
Yes, there is a car park for up to three cars next to each field. Please park at the marked area for your field. For Muttley and Bolt fields please drive carefully up the track up to the top car park, giving way to any vehicles coming down the track. Be aware that other customers may be leaving Lassie field and use extreme caution whilst passing. If you are coming with a group please try to car share where possible and leave room for the customers using the other field. Always give way to incoming traffic and please be especially careful when entering or leaving as you are crossing both a pedestrian and cycle path.
Is there a toilet?
Unfortunately, not – please make sure you go before you set off!
What if the weather is too wet or too hot?
There is a shelter in each field but please take plenty of water to cool your dogs as we only have water butts on site that empty quickly in hotter weather. Please check the forecast a day or two before your session as you can change your booking up to 24 hours before your booked session if you are at all worried. Simply click the ‘login’ button on our website and then click the ‘my sessions’ button where you can pick a different session. If you want to cancel your booking please contact us. You can do this up to 24 hours ahead of your booked session, any later and we can’t refund. This is to allow other customers sufficient time to book that session.
How many dogs can I bring?
Up to 8 dogs can be booked onto a field at any one time. If you would like to bring more dogs, please get in touch and we may be able to help. Booking both fields at once means that you will be able to bring up to 16 dogs but please be aware of the recent parking restriction (outlined below) placed on us by the local council:
This planning condition means that there is to be no more than six customer vehicles on the car park at any one time. Please only bring up to three cars per field OR if you would like to book both fields at the same time you can park up to six cars in the car park. Street parking is available around the area but we would encourage car sharing if possible.
Remember when in a group it is easy to get chatting, but you must keep an eye on your dogs at all times and pick up their poo as well as being considerate to other users. Please keep your dogs in the car until the previous customers have left and always park outside the field you booked in order to leave plenty of room for the customers to park outside the other field (unless you have booked both fields).
Please keep an eye on the time and get all of your dogs back in the cars and leave the car park as quickly as possible after your session. Remember a session is 50 minutes long but feel free to book two consecutive sessions in order to spend 1 hour and 50 minutes having a good play.
How safe is it?
We use 6 foot fences, a secure coded gate system and CCTV cameras and we ask you to report anything that you feel may cause a security issue.
However, it is still a rural open field space that may have natural features such as hillocks, molehills, streams, puddles, mud, logs and anything else you might find in the great outdoors (apart from other dogs or livestock of course). And although we try hard to fill any holes that may have been dug by dogs, we cannot guarantee that there will not be any, so please be careful, especially outside of daylight hours.
All our fences comply with the standard recommended height for secure dog fields of 6 feet so it is vital that if you think your dog might be capable of jumping over a 6 foot high fence then please do not risk allowing your dog to run free in one of our fields.
You are responsible for your own and your dog’s safety at all times.
What shall I do with the poo?
Pick it up! It would be fantastic if you could pick up any that you see whether it’s your dog’s poo or not. This keeps it clean for all of us and means that if you miss your own dog doing the deed hopefully someone else will pick it up too. Dog poo bins are provided at the entrance to each field.
Our fields are checked for cleanliness regularly but if you do spot a recurrent problem please let us know through our contact page.
Do you have dog washing facilities?
We don’t currently have dog washing facilities so please bring towels or protective covers for your car journey home.
Remember mucky pups are happy pups!
Do you have dog toys?
We don’t have a toy supply as a number of larger dogs were eating some of them and risking becoming unwell. By all means please bring your own toys for your dogs to enjoy but please take these home with you at the end of your session.
Is there disabled access?
If you have mobility difficulties we provide a shelter within the field where you can sit and watch your dog (the Lassie field in Eccles has a wider entrance gate at 120cm) but please contact us and/or check the field before booking according to your needs. Be aware that the car park is a gravel surface so maneuvering a wheelchair may be difficult depending on the type of chair. If you cannot get onto the field please take someone with you to help pick up dog poo and to be able to control your dog/s at all times. Please be aware that due to the nature of the fields we cannot guarantee wheelchair access.
Can I change my booking?
Yes, you can change your booking up to 24 hours before your booked session.
Shall I bring my wellies?
Knowing what the Great British weather is like YES! We recommend you always bring your wellies or boots because even when the sun has been shining there may be areas where it is boggy or muddy.
My secure code won’t work – what should I do?
Firstly, double check the code and the time. The code will only work on the day and during the 50 minutes that you booked. Not a few minutes before or after that hour. Please make sure you are entering the Gate Code shown on your email and not the Booking Reference.
If you are still having problems please ring 0161 222 1071 and we will try to help.
